Bajaj Pulsar is considered a pioneer brand in India for manufacturing most cool and high power Super Sports Bikes in India.
The much awaited waited Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be finally launched in August this year. As per latest reports, the new was confirmed by Bajaj Auto, CEO, Rajiv Bajaj at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and falls in line with the company’s earlier announcement of introducing the performance motorcycle in the third quarter of the calendar.
This is the first time a motorcycle from Bajaj will sport an all-digital instrument cluster. It all looks very smart, only the key slot sticks out sorely at the handlebar.
As can be seen from these pics that the tIn terms of styling, the CS 400 does not adopt a conventional cruiser look but instead aims at being a modern hybrid between a cruiser and a street fighter.
Staying true to its low stance, it sports a slightly raked out front end that is adept for highway cruising, but to a lesser degree than you would expect to see on most regular cruisers. The front cowl is pretty neatly designed, with a swept-back visor and an all-new LED headlight setup.
Despite the model first displayed at the Auto Expo sporting USD forks up front, the production version will come equipped with regular telescopic forks instead. The rear will come shod with a mono-shock setup as witnessed on the bike first shown.
Bajaj Pulsar CS400 Specifications
Powering the CS400 will be a re-tuned version of the same 373.6 cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid cooled motor that powers the KTM 390 Duke.
This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and for the CS400, it is expected to produce a maximum power-torque of 41 bhp-35 Nm.
The engine will receive DTSi Triple Spark Plug technology for the CS400. It is expected that the Pulsar CS400 would have a top speed of roughly 165 km/h. The bike will get disc brakes at both ends and feature 17-inch alloys. Here’s the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 specifications table based on our estimates.

The concept CS400 that we saw at the Auto Expo 2014 boasted of upside down front forks. However, the production-spec model will get regular front forks. The rear, however, will certainly come with a monoshock suspension. Also, while the concept had a single seat, the production model will come with split seats. Other than these the product model will stay true to the concept model.
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 Mileage could be roughly 27 kmpl.
Unlike the KTM Duke 390, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be built to a cost and that will evidently show in the final asking price. So expect the CS400 to carry a highly competitive price tag, undercutting the Duke as well and is expected to be in the vicinity of 1.50-1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This puts the models right between the likes of the KTM Duke 200, Benelli TNT 250 among others.
